Fans of early-2000s pop and R&B could be in for a huge nostalgia hit, as Mis-Teeq are reportedly planning a reunion concert to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their debut album.
According to reports, Alesha Dixon, Sabrina Washington and Su-Elise Nash are in discussions about marking the milestone anniversary of Lickin’ On Both Sides, the record that launched them into pop superstardom back in 2001 and helped define an era of British chart music.
The album was a huge success on release, reaching number three on the Official UK Albums Chart and producing a string of hit singles that dominated radio and music television at the time. Tracks including All I Want, One Night Stand, B with Me, Roll On / This Is How We Do It and Why? all landed in the UK Top 10, establishing Mis-Teeq as one of the most successful British girl groups of their generation.
Now, 25 years on, insiders suggest the trio are keen to honour the album’s legacy with a special comeback moment for fans who grew up with their music.
A source told The Sun:
“Alesha has been excitedly talking about this for a while and would love a Mis-Teeq reunion with Sabrina and Su-Elise to happen. At the minute, lots of things are being discussed.”
The insider added that one of the main ideas being explored is a one-off reunion concert, rather than a full-scale tour.
“One thing that has come up is the idea of a one-off show. It could be an intimate gig for their die-hard fans or a performance on a big TV programme such as Britain’s Got Talent.”
Such a TV appearance would be particularly fitting, given that Alesha Dixon is currently a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, potentially providing the perfect platform for a high-profile reunion performance.
Mis-Teeq originally formed in the late 1990s and quickly became known for their slick choreography, R&B-infused pop sound and strong, confident image. At a time when British pop was dominated by manufactured acts, Mis-Teeq stood out by blending US-style R&B influences with UK pop sensibilities, helping pave the way for future artists.
Despite their success, the group split in 2005, with all three members going on to pursue different paths. Alesha Dixon enjoyed chart success as a solo artist before reinventing herself as a hugely popular TV presenter and judge. Sabrina Washington moved into musical theatre and later worked behind the scenes in the entertainment industry, while Su-Elise Nash focused on songwriting and production.
Over the years, rumours of a Mis-Teeq reunion have surfaced multiple times, but nothing substantial has ever materialised, making the latest reports particularly exciting for long-time fans.
While no official confirmation has been made by the group themselves, the timing feels right. With the 25th anniversary of Lickin’ On Both Sides approaching, nostalgia for early-2000s pop at an all-time high, and reunion tours proving hugely successful across the industry, demand for a Mis-Teeq comeback would undoubtedly be strong.
For fans now in their 40s and beyond, Mis-Teeq’s music represents a defining soundtrack of club nights, chart countdowns and Saturday morning TV. A reunion, even for one night only, would offer a rare chance to relive that era live.
Whether the trio opt for an intimate gig, a major televised performance, or something entirely different remains to be seen. But if the discussions do lead to a reunion, it would mark one of the most exciting pop comebacks of recent years.
For now, fans will be watching closely, and hoping that Mis-Teeq really are ready to roll on together once again.
