ALI G IS BACK! SACHA BARON COHEN SPOTTED FILMING IN FULL CHARACTER AFTER 20 YEARS

Sacha Baron Cohen has been spotted reprising his legendary character Ali G more than two decades after the brash, hilarious, and unforgettable Staines MC first burst onto our screens.

Fans were left stunned last week when the British comedian was seen filming new material at a wildlife park in the Cotswolds, dressed unmistakably as his most famous alter ego. The distinctive look, now with a modern twist, featured a brightly coloured crocheted rastacap, chunky gold chains, and those familiar tinted wraparound shades.

Eyewitnesses in Chipping Norton couldn’t believe their eyes as Sacha, now 52, transformed back into Ali G and strutted around in character, complete with exaggerated hand gestures and that unmistakable swagger. He was accompanied by a full production crew, with onlookers confirming that cameras were rolling and scenes were being shot on location.

“He was with a whole film crew and was in full character,” one source told The Sun.
“He seemed very comfortable in the role. I was amazed. I thought to myself, ‘That’s Ali G!’ He clearly updated Ali G’s wardrobe.”

The return of Ali G has sparked a wave of nostalgia for fans who watched the character dominate pop culture in the early 2000s. Ali G first appeared on Channel 4's The 11 O'Clock Show in 1998 before landing his own hit series, Da Ali G Show, which ran until 2004. The character also made the leap to the big screen in Ali G Indahouse in 2002 and became a global phenomenon for his satirical interviews and absurd antics.

While Sacha Baron Cohen has kept busy over the years with other successful characters like Borat and Brüno, many fans have long hoped for Ali G to make a proper comeback. Although he briefly appeared in character during stand-up sets in Australia in 2023, this is the first time Cohen has been seen filming new content in full Ali G mode in the UK.

There has been no official word yet on whether this is for a new TV series, movie, or special, but the sighting has fuelled rumours of a major Ali G revival. The comedian has often spoken about his desire to bring characters back for the right reasons, and with the current social and political climate ripe for parody, many believe the time is perfect for Ali G’s return.

Social media exploded with excitement after images surfaced online, with fans calling it “the comeback we didn’t know we needed” and “the most exciting thing to happen in comedy this year.”

Whether he’s interviewing unsuspecting politicians or dropping outrageous one-liners, one thing is certain, Ali G is back, and the world is watching.
