A Journey of Heartbreak and Hope
Liz first revealed she was expecting back in May, after opening up about her long and painful battle with infertility.
She shared that she and her husband Peter Cho, whom she married in 2021, had spent years trying to conceive naturally before turning to IVF treatments, a process that would take them on an emotional rollercoaster of hope and heartbreak.
The singer explained that after three failed embryo transfers in 2023 and two miscarriages the following year, they had almost given up on their dream of becoming parents.
Speaking at the time, Liz said:
“We’d been trying for so long, and every setback was devastating. IVF is emotionally and physically exhausting, but we never lost hope. This baby is our miracle.”
That miracle has now arrived, bringing an overwhelming sense of joy and relief to the couple who have been incredibly open about their struggles.
From Pop Stardom to Parenthood
Liz McClarnon rose to fame in the early 2000s as one-third of Atomic Kittens, alongside Kerry Katona and Natasha Hamilton. The group became one of the UK’s most successful girl bands of the decade, selling over 10 million records worldwide and scoring three No.1 singles.
After the band went on hiatus, Liz pursued solo projects, releasing her own music, appearing in stage productions, and even training as a chef, a passion that saw her win Celebrity MasterChef in 2008.
But throughout her success, she remained candid about her personal struggles, including her dream of becoming a mum. Her honesty about her fertility challenges has now inspired many fans who are going through similar experiences.
A New Chapter
In a recent update, Liz thanked her followers for their support, writing:
“It’s been a long journey, but we got here. I’m so grateful to everyone who’s supported us, to the doctors and nurses who helped us, and to Peter for being my rock through it all.”
She added that her baby boy was “healthy, happy, and perfect,” and that both parents were “completely in love.”
Liz’s bandmates also celebrated the news, with Natasha Hamilton commenting, “So happy for you both! Welcome to the world little man 💙,” while Kerry Katona shared, “You deserve every happiness, babe. What a blessing.”
Fans are now eagerly awaiting more details, including her son’s name, but for now, Liz says she’s focused on “soaking up every precious moment.”
