Pop powerhouse Charli XCX and The 1975 drummer George Daniel are officially husband and wife.
The “Speed Drive” singer, whose real name is Charlotte Emma Aitchison, said I Do to her long-time partner in a chic, low-key ceremony at Hackney Town Hall, London, on Saturday, marking the ultimate ‘Brat summer’ moment for the star and her fans.
Photos from the happy day show the couple posing hand-in-hand outside the registry with beaming smiles, surrounded by about 20 of their closest friends and family. Charli’s minimal but stunning bridal look perfectly matched the understated vibe of the ceremony, proving once again she’s the queen of effortless cool.
Among the guests were George’s bandmates from The 1975, Adam Hann and Ross MacDonald, showing their support for the newlyweds. However, frontman Matty Healy was noticeably absent from the big day, sparking whispers from fans online. According to reports, though, Matty did join George for his Ibiza stag do earlier in the week, so it seems his absence was nothing personal.
One guest shared on Instagram: “It was such a beautiful day, so personal and so them. Just pure love and happiness, exactly what a wedding should be.”

Another fun detail that’s been revealed is the couple’s surprisingly modest choice of wedding ring for Charli. The sparkling band is estimated at around £10,000, a far cry from the extravagant rocks often flaunted by celebrities with their level of fame and combined estimated fortune of over £10 million. Fans have praised the couple for staying true to their down-to-earth style despite their star power.
Charli, 32, and George, 34, have been dating since around 2022, making their relationship public with a series of cute posts and red carpet appearances. George also co-produced parts of Charli’s critically acclaimed Brat album, which has been hailed as one of her best works to date.
The Hackney Town Hall wedding comes at the peak of Charli’s career renaissance, with Brat dominating charts and dancefloors worldwide. Many fans online have cheekily dubbed the wedding a perfect ‘Brat girl summer’ moment.
While the couple has yet to post official photos on their own social media, plenty of guests have already shared candid snaps, and the love from fans has poured in. Comments under fan accounts include: “This is so Charli-coded, understated but iconic” and “Brat girl summer just peaked, congratulations queen.”
