Christine McGuinness may have landed herself in hot water with ITV bosses after appearing to confirm she’s joining the cast of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! at the Pride of Britain Awards.
The 36-year-old model and mother-of-three, who recently quit Celebs Go Dating, seemed to drop a huge hint that she’ll soon be swapping glamour for jungle grime when she admitted she’d finally said yes to the challenge after years of being asked.
Speaking at the star-studded London event on Monday night, Christine appeared to forget about ITV’s famously strict secrecy rules surrounding the show’s lineup, before realising she may have said too much.
“In the past, I’m never away from my children. I’d be frightened of the creepy crawlies, I have sensory issues, and I’ve never been outside Europe, so flying over there would be quite a challenge,” she told reporters.
“But I’ve got a bit of a ‘f*** it’ attitude now. I’ve said yes.”
Her comment reportedly left her friend gobsmacked, who quickly interrupted with:
“What did you just say?! You’re not even allowed to say that! Christine!”
The slip-up sparked laughter on the red carpet, but also speculation that McGuinness might face a stern call from ITV executives, who are known for keeping contestants’ identities under wraps until the official lineup reveal.
Christine, who rose to fame on The Real Housewives of Cheshire and later through her marriage to comedian Paddy McGuinness, has had a transformative year. Since separating from Paddy in 2022, she has been focusing on her own projects, charity work, and raising their three children, all of whom are autistic, like herself.
Her potential I’m A Celeb appearance marks another major step in what she’s described as her “new chapter.”
“This is a time in my life where I’m saying yes to things I’d never have done before,” she added. “I’m doing things for me now.”

If confirmed, Christine could follow in the footsteps of other I’m A Celeb stars who’ve used the show as a chance to reset their public image, from Katie Price to Carol Vorderman. And fans already think she’ll be one of the standout contestants this year.
Social media quickly lit up after her red-carpet remarks, with one fan tweeting:
“Did Christine McGuinness just CONFIRM she’s going into the jungle?! ITV are gonna be fuming 😂.”
Another added:
“Good on her! She deserves a big opportunity like that, and she’ll smash it.”
It’s believed Christine’s fear of heights could mean she won’t be part of the launch episode’s traditional parachute jump, hinting that she may be introduced later in the series as a surprise “late entry.”
While ITV has yet to confirm or deny her involvement, producers have reportedly been keen to sign Christine for several years, seeing her as “relatable, brave, and loved by viewers.”
The full I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! lineup is expected to be officially announced in early November, ahead of the new series’ launch from the Australian jungle.
Whether Christine faces a spider-filled trial or not, one thing’s certain, she’s already made headlines before the show has even begun.
