Drake has pulled the plug on tonight’s highly anticipated performance at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena due to what organisers are calling “travel logistics”.
The global rap icon, who was set to take the stage on Monday, July 28, has already wowed fans with back-to-back shows at the venue on Friday and Saturday. But his third scheduled date has now been officially postponed, with Co-op Live confirming the disruption on their website.
“Due to unforeseen ferry schedule and travel logistics, tomorrow’s performance in Manchester on July 28th has been rescheduled,” said a statement from Co-op Live.
The good news for disappointed fans is that the new date has already been confirmed: Tuesday, August 5th. The venue added that the new show is expected to be “an unforgettable night.”
The delay appears to be linked to Drake’s hectic international tour schedule. After performing in Manchester on Saturday, the rapper jetted off to Sweden for a concert in Gothenburg on Sunday, July 27, leaving little time for his team to transport all personnel and equipment back across Europe in time for the Monday show.
While Drake himself has yet to publicly comment on the change, sources close to the tour have emphasised that the rescheduled show will feature the full production experience and fans are urged to hold onto their tickets, which remain valid for the new date.
Many fans had already begun arriving in Manchester ahead of tonight’s show, sparking frustration and disappointment on social media. Some posted images outside the arena, unaware that the show had been cancelled until the official announcement came through early Monday morning.
Co-op Live and Drake’s tour organisers have apologised for the inconvenience and encouraged fans to keep an eye on official channels for any further updates.
