Former Love Island star Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu found herself at the centre of an embarrassing incident after being escorted out of the official BAFTA afterparty on Sunday night. The reality TV star attended the star-studded BAFTA Television Awards at London’s Royal Festival Hall as a guest of the event’s sponsor, P&O Cruises, but was not invited to the exclusive dinner and afterparty that followed the ceremony.
Despite this, Ekin-Su reportedly attempted to gain access to the prestigious dinner, mingling among the high-profile guests. But her efforts quickly turned awkward. While celebrities such as Damian Lewis, Alison Steadman, David Tennant, Billie Piper, and James Corden enjoyed a lavish three-course meal, Ekin-Su was seen wandering around the venue without a seat.
One onlooker described the scene to the Daily Mail, saying, "Ekin-Su was aimlessly wandering around while all the real stars were seated at the bash having dinner. It was actually quite tragic to witness."
Her attempt to blend in was short-lived, as BAFTA’s security team eventually identified her as a guest without an invitation to the dinner and promptly asked her to leave, resulting in what witnesses described as a "humiliating" exit.
A representative for Ekin-Su has confirmed that she was indeed a guest of P&O Cruises and was never officially invited to the exclusive BAFTA dinner. However, the star’s attempt to join the A-list festivities has quickly become a talking point, with many on social media commenting on the awkward situation.
Ekin-Su rose to fame after winning Love Island and has since built a substantial social media following, regularly appearing at major showbiz events. But this latest incident has left fans divided, with some expressing sympathy while others see it as a desperate bid for attention.
The BAFTA Television Awards are known for celebrating the best in British television, but this year, it seems the biggest drama unfolded off-screen.
