Fleur East has announced her next big move, and it’s a show-stopping one
The singer and presenter revealed live on The One Show that she’ll be stepping into the iconic heels of Tina Turner in The Tina Turner Musical on London’s West End.
“I’m really excited to announce I’ll be playing Tina in The Tina Turner Musical on the West End,” she shared with a huge smile. “Obviously for me, as a performer, Tina Turner has always been in my top five and I’ve channelled Tina over the years.”
While she’s always admired the Queen of Rock ’n’ Roll for her powerhouse performances, it was seeing the musical with her husband that gave Fleur a deeper understanding of Tina’s life.
“I didn’t know much about her story and the challenges she faced,” she admitted. “When I first went to see the musical, I was taken aback by her resilience, her strength, and what a woman she was. For me, that’s what I connected with the most and I thought, what an honour to play such an incredible woman.”
The X Factor star and former Strictly finalist also revealed she’s feeling a mix of “terrified” and “excited” about taking on some of Tina’s biggest hits, including the vocal powerhouse that is River Deep, Mountain High. But Fleur says she’s ready for the challenge.
With her commanding vocals, fiery energy, and raw emotion, Fleur East is set to bring a whole new spark to the role. Get ready for a Simply the Best performance
