The arena is set, the contenders are pumped, and the lycra is ready to stretch to its limits, Celebrity Gladiators is back, and this time the competition is getting serious.
Topping the bill for this year’s much-anticipated special is Vogue Williams, the Irish presenter and model known for her love of fitness and no-nonsense attitude. She’ll be joined by Joe Wicks, the nation’s lockdown fitness saviour, Olympic boxing champion Nicola Adams, and I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! winner and gym fanatic Sam Thompson.
The four high-profile stars are set to film their episode today in front of a live studio audience, with the show scheduled to air later this year on the BBC. And unlike last year’s celebrity special, which leaned into comedy with a trio of comedians including Taskmaster favourite Alex Horne, this year’s line-up promises genuine athleticism, fierce competition, and high-stakes entertainment.
A source close to production teased what’s to come:
“Last year was all about the laughs, and it worked. But this time producers wanted to ramp up the action. They’ve brought in four stars who are seriously fit and competitive. Viewers can expect proper clashes with the Gladiators, and maybe even a few bruises!”
The original Gladiators, a ‘90s Saturday night TV staple, was recently rebooted by the BBC, reigniting Britain’s love affair with lycra-clad warriors, foam pugil sticks, and the iconic Travelator. The new series has been a ratings success, bringing nostalgic thrills to long-time fans while introducing a new generation to the epic challenges and larger-than-life characters.

Adding celebrities into the mix only raises the stakes. All four contestants are no strangers to the spotlight, or to pushing themselves physically. Vogue Williams has previously spoken about her dedication to the gym and a healthy lifestyle, while Joe Wicks became a household name by getting the nation moving during lockdown.
Meanwhile, Nicola Adams brings undeniable sporting pedigree, as an Olympic gold medal-winning boxer, she’s not expected to go down without a fight. And Sam Thompson, the reality TV favourite who charmed the nation in the jungle, is known for his enthusiasm and surprising strength.
While most details are under wraps, fans can expect the return of popular events such as Duel, Hang Tough, and the nail-biting final showdown: The Eliminator.
With adrenaline-fuelled battles and famous faces under pressure, this latest Celebrity Gladiators special promises to be a standout TV moment of the year.
