JESS GLYNNE MEETS VOICE BEHIND VIRAL JET2HOLIDAYS AD

Jess Glynne has met the woman whose voice helped bring her 2015 hit Hold My Hand back into the spotlight. The singer surprised admirers of the viral Jet2holidays campaign by finally meeting Zoë Lister, the English actress and voiceover artist behind the now-iconic travel ad.

The campaign’s catchphrase “Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday”, paired with Jess Glynne’s pop anthem, has become a staple of TikTok’s summer video trends, soundtracking everything from holiday fails to boarding shenanigans. The sound has appeared in over 1.5 million user-generated videos and turned Lister’s voice into an unexpected audio celebrity.

Their meeting took place live on Capital Breakfast with host Jordan North. Video clips show Glynne entering the studio to a joyous reaction from Jordan: “It’s happening! It’s happening!” He introduced Lister, and the two shared an emotional hug as listeners cheered in the background. Glynne then performed an impromptu rendition of Lister’s famous ad voiceover, while Lister recited the slogan live as Hold My Hand played softly in the background.

Jess admitted she was utterly surprised by the viral resurgence. “It’s a massive surprise 100%. It’s the most amazing thing to see though.” She jokingly read out the promotional lines, “Nothing beats a Jet2 holiday…save £50 per person…”, to great delight from the crowd. Lister responded by delivering the same tagline live, showcasing just how seamlessly the ad slogan and music had merged in British pop culture.

Lister, age 43, has had a long-standing career in television and voiceover work. She became the voice of Jet2holidays in 2022 and has no regrets in how things played out: “This has gone global, I’ve been getting DMs left, right and centre,” she said in a TikTok reveal. Her performance, once reserved for gentle pre-flight commercials, now resonates across platforms as a staple of summer content creation.

Fans watching the clip online responded with nostalgia and delight, many called it “British culture at its finest” and “the crossover we didn’t know we needed.” Some joked that they’d mistaken Lister’s voice for other on-screen celebrities until now.

Jess Glynne’s track, which topped charts in 2015, has benefitted from renewed streaming numbers and viral interest. It’s a testament to the enduring power of a great melody and a well-timed advert, and how serendipity can breathe new life into beloved music.

Now that Jess Glynne and Zoë Lister have finally met, fans can revel in the full-circle moment: the pop star and the voice star who together engineered one of the most joyful viral sensations of 2025.
