Luke Littler: Darts Champion Fails Driving Test for Fourth Time

Luke Littler has taken the darts world by storm, but it seems the UK’s roads are proving a much trickier opponent.

The 18-year-old darts prodigy, who became a world champion just months after his debut on the professional scene, revealed this week that he has failed his driving theory test for the fourth time.

Littler, affectionately nicknamed “The Nuke” by fans, has wowed millions with his composure under pressure and precision on the oche. Yet when it comes to the rules of the road, he admits he’s struggling to hit the right targets.

The frustrating fourth miss

On Wednesday, Littler shared his latest theory test result on Instagram. The letter, showing his failure, begins bluntly: “I’m sorry to tell you that you failed your car theory test.”

He captioned the story: “4th time and counting”, accompanied by a green queasy-face emoji, clearly showing his frustration at the ongoing saga.

According to the report, Littler performed strongly on the multiple-choice section, scoring 45 out of 50, comfortably above the passing mark. But it was the hazard perception test that let him down, scoring just 41 out of the required 43 out of 75.

The post sparked an outpouring of supportive (and often humorous) messages from his followers, with many urging him to keep trying and others joking that he should just “stick to the darts”.

King of the oche, but not yet king of the road

Littler’s meteoric rise in darts over the last 18 months has been nothing short of remarkable. At just 17, he reached the World Darts Championship final, and by 18, he had cemented himself as one of the sport’s biggest names.

Yet even as he continues to break records on the dartboard, his repeated theory test failures serve as a reminder that even champions are human.

Fans and pundits alike have praised him for sharing his struggles publicly, showing that resilience and a sense of humour are as important off the board as they are on it.

What’s next?

Littler says he has no plans to give up and has already booked his fifth attempt. He joked in a separate post: “If at first you don’t succeed… keep paying £23 a go!”

Whether or not he passes next time, fans will no doubt continue cheering him on, both at the darts and eventually, hopefully, behind the wheel.
