BBC presenter Michelle Ackerley has welcomed her first child with husband Ben Ryan, joyfully announcing the arrival of their baby girl on Instagram.
The Morning Live star, 40, shared the happy news with her followers on Thursday, posting a touching selfie of herself cradling her newborn. The new mum looked radiant as she revealed her daughter’s beautiful name, Nala Lomani Ryan.

The happy announcement comes just weeks after fans expressed concern for Michelle’s wellbeing when she was rushed to hospital due to a painful ear infection during her pregnancy.
Michelle later reassured her followers that both she and her baby were fine, explaining that she had been diagnosed with labyrinthitis, an inner ear infection that can affect balance and cause dizziness.
At the time, she posted a message to thank her supporters for their kind messages, saying:
“A little bump in the road, but all good now. Resting up and counting down the days until we meet our little one.”
Now, that long-awaited moment has finally arrived, and Michelle and Ben are settling into life as new parents.
Ben Ryan, an Olympic gold medal-winning rugby coach best known for leading Fiji’s sevens team to victory in Rio 2016, has also shared his excitement about becoming a dad for the first time. The couple tied the knot last year in an intimate ceremony surrounded by close friends and family.
