The Canary Islands Government has announced more changes and diversions on the TF-1 motorway in Las Chafiras, in the south of Tenerife, from Monday (21st April), as part of the ongoing infrastructure works on the junctions.
According to the Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Mobility, traffic will be diverted nightly from 8:00pm to 6:00am until Friday morning (25th April). The diversion is necessary to facilitate the installation of prefabricated beams for the new bridge at kilometre point 62 +200, a key phase in the development of the project.
During these hours, vehicles will be rerouted off the motorway through the Chafiras industrial estate, between junctions 62 and 64, affecting both the upper and lower sections of the zone.
Authorities have stated that the primary goal of these temporary diversions is to ensure road safety, maintain the smooth flow of traffic, and reduce inconvenience to regular users of the TF-1.
While some disruption is expected, the works are scheduled during overnight hours to minimise impact during peak travel times. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and to follow diversion signs and directions from traffic personnel while the works are taking place.
