Midge Ure Postpones 2025 Tour Dates Due to Urgent Health Concerns

Legendary musician Midge Ure has announced a major rescheduling of his upcoming 2025 ‘A Man of Two Worlds’ tour, following the discovery of a health issue that requires urgent treatment and recovery time.

The Ultravox frontman and solo artist, 70, confirmed the news in a heartfelt post to fans on his official Instagram account, revealing that the decision was made after a recent routine medical check-up uncovered a health condition that needs immediate attention.

While the specific nature of the health issue has not been disclosed, Ure stressed that it was serious enough to warrant postponing a large portion of his international touring schedule, particularly the Australia and European legs from September onwards.

A Difficult but Necessary Decision

In his statement, Midge expressed deep regret for the disruption the changes may cause to fans, many of whom travel long distances to attend his shows.

“I know many of you travel great distances, often across borders to attend the shows, and I never take that support for granted,” he said. “I’m truly sorry for any inconvenience or disruption this causes to your plans.”

However, he was quick to reassure fans that the current July and August shows, including several key UK performances as well as dates in Slovakia and Italy, will still go ahead as planned.

“Let me reassure you that the ‘A Man Of Two Worlds’ tour is very much going ahead,” he continued. “I remain fully committed to performing all shows currently scheduled for this month and I’m looking forward to being out there with you for as long as I’m able.”

An Outpouring of Support

Since the announcement, fans have flooded Midge’s social media with well wishes and words of support. Many praised his honesty and wished him a swift recovery.

“Health first, always,” one fan commented.
“You’ve given us so much for decades, we’ll be here when you’re ready to return.”

The ‘A Man of Two Worlds’ tour, named after the poignant track from his Ultravox days, has been warmly received so far, with Midge performing a setlist spanning his decades-long career, from ‘Vienna’ and ‘Dancing with Tears in My Eyes’ to solo hits like ‘If I Was’.

Though the rescheduling of the autumn dates is a disappointment for many, the general consensus is that Midge’s health and well-being must take priority.

New Dates To Be Announced

Promoters have confirmed that ticket holders for the postponed shows will be contacted directly, and efforts are already underway to reschedule the affected dates for early 2026. Refunds will be offered where rescheduling isn’t possible.

As fans await further updates, Midge Ure’s legacy as one of the UK’s most beloved and respected musicians remains firmly intact, and his commitment to returning to the stage when he's fit again only cements that status further.

We wish Midge a speedy and full recovery.
