A motorcyclist has died following a serious accident yesterday (Tuesday) on the TF-24 road in the Teide National Park, Tenerife. The accident happened near the observatory on this mountain route when the rider lost control and plunged several metres down a steep slope.
The Emergency Services Coordination Centre (CECOES) dispatched the necessary resources to the location given, including an SUC ambulance and a medical helicopter.
Despite the rapid response, the motorcyclist was found in cardiac arrest by medics, and efforts to resuscitate him were sadly unsuccessful. Unfortunately, they couldn’t revive him, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Guardia Civil have launched an investigation to determine the precise circumstances of the crash.
Motorbike accidents remain a serious concern in Tenerife, where the island’s winding roads and mountainous terrain pose significant risks. The TF-24, known for its dramatic scenery and sharp curves, can be particularly treacherous, especially when combined with changing weather conditions.
Local authorities regularly urge both residents and visitors to ride with caution, reminding motorcyclists to observe speed limits, wear appropriate protective clothing and equipment, and remain alert at all times.
