RAYE’S STOLEN CAR FOUND, WITH ALL HER SONGWRITING BOOKS STILL INSIDE

RAYE’S STOLEN CAR FOUND, WITH ALL HER SONGWRITING BOOKS STILL INSIDE

British singer-songwriter RAYE has shared a huge sigh of relief after police managed to recover her stolen car, with her songwriting books still on the backseat and completely untouched.

The Where Is My Husband! star, 27, opened up about the emotional moment she got the news that her car had been found, months after it was taken. The theft last year forced her to delay work on her highly anticipated second album, which she had been writing in those very same notebooks.

Now, after what she describes as “a rollercoaster journey,” the award-winning artist says she’s feeling grateful, inspired, and back in the creative zone.

In a new interview, RAYE said:

“It was a rollercoaster journey but what I didn’t tell people is that the police called me two or three months ago and said, ‘We’ve found your car.’”

“Not only did they get it back but not one thing had been taken out of the car.”

“All my songwriting books were there untouched. There was so much important stuff in there, and when I was flicking through it I was like, ‘Thank God this has been returned to me.’”

For RAYE, those songwriting journals represent years of hard work and deeply personal creativity. The singer has previously described her notebooks as “like diaries,” filled with lyrics, ideas, and reflections that often form the emotional core of her music.

The My 21st Century Blues hitmaker went on to explain that losing them had been a devastating blow, one that affected not just her professionally, but personally too. “It wasn’t even about the car,” she admitted. “It was about what was inside.”

The return of her vehicle and her prized notebooks comes as RAYE is putting the final touches on her delayed second album, which is expected to arrive in early 2026. Fans are already speculating that some of the recovered material could feature on the record.

RAYE, who made history earlier this year by winning six Brit Awards in one night, including Album of the Year and Artist of the Year, has been praised for her raw honesty and independence after breaking free from her former record label to release music on her own terms.

Her critically acclaimed debut album My 21st Century Blues became a powerful statement of artistic freedom, exploring topics like addiction, empowerment, heartbreak, and resilience, themes that continue to define her music.

Now, with her creative process reignited, RAYE says she’s determined to move forward. “The timing feels right again,” she said. “Everything happens for a reason, even if you don’t understand it at first.”

Fans have flooded social media with messages of joy and support, with many calling the recovery of her songwriting books “a miracle.” One fan posted on X:

“So happy for RAYE, losing all those lyrics would’ve been devastating. Can’t wait to hear what she’s been working on.”

Another wrote:

“Only RAYE could turn a car theft story into an inspiring comeback moment. She’s truly unstoppable.”

The singer hasn’t yet announced an official release date for her new album but confirmed that recording is “nearly complete.” If her recent success is anything to go by, the new material will no doubt continue to showcase RAYE’s unique blend of soulful vocals, emotional storytelling, and fearless authenticity.

As for her rediscovered songwriting books, they’re right where they belong: back in the hands of one of the UK’s brightest and most powerful voices.
