Global superstar Rosalía has officially confirmed that her highly anticipated new album, ‘LUX’, will be released next month, marking her first full-length project since the groundbreaking Motomami in 2022.
The Catalan art-pop innovator announced the news late Monday night, sharing the striking album cover on Instagram with the simple caption: “Habemus Album.” The record, her fourth studio album, will be released on November 7 via Columbia Records, and promises to usher in a bold new chapter for the 31-year-old artist.
Fans had already been buzzing for weeks after mysterious billboards featuring the word ‘LUX’ began appearing in New York’s Times Square, Madrid, and Mexico City. Rosalía further fuelled the excitement by posting a short video of herself listening to a dramatic, orchestral instrumental, giving followers their first taste of what’s to come.
While Rosalía hasn’t yet released a tracklist or lead single, early hints suggest the project will take a radically different direction from Motomami’s genre-blending, experimental sound. Speaking to ELLE earlier this year, she said,
“The rhythm of the music industry is so fast. And the sacrifice, the price to pay, is so high. The driving force that leads you to continue making music, to continue creating, has to come from a place of purity. Motives like money, pleasure, power… I don’t feel that they are fertile. Nothing will come out of there that I’m really interested in.”
Those comments have led many fans to speculate that LUX will represent a more spiritual, orchestral, and introspective side of Rosalía, perhaps her most mature work to date. The Latin Grammy winner has always pushed the boundaries of genre and form, blending flamenco roots with futuristic production, reggaeton rhythms, and avant-garde pop aesthetics.
Her last album, Motomami, was universally acclaimed for its daring experimentation and emotional depth, topping critics’ lists and earning Rosalía multiple Latin Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year. The record cemented her as one of the most visionary artists in global music.
Now, with LUX, she looks set to redefine herself once again. Industry insiders suggest the new project could feature orchestral arrangements, poetic lyricism, and collaborations with both classical and contemporary musicians, though Rosalía has remained tight-lipped about guest features.

Social media erupted after the announcement, with fans flooding X (formerly Twitter) with reactions. One fan wrote, “Rosalía doesn’t drop albums, she drops eras. We’re not ready for LUX.” Another added, “If Motomami was chaos and energy, LUX feels like light and peace.”
As anticipation builds, LUX is already being hailed as one of the most awaited releases of 2025. Between her fearless creativity and global influence, Rosalía has firmly established herself as one of the most original and influential voices in music today.
Whether LUX turns out to be a meditative masterpiece or another genre-bending revolution, one thing’s certain: when Rosalía releases new music, the world listens.
