ROSS KING WALTZES OFF STRICTLY COME DANCING AFTER MOVIE WEEK SHOWDOWN

Ross King’s Strictly journey comes to an end. The glitz, glamour, and glitter of Movie Week ended in tears for TV favourite Ross King, who became the second celebrity to be voted off Strictly Come Dancing 2025 on Sunday night’s results show.

Ross, best known for his role as a Hollywood correspondent and broadcaster, found himself in the dreaded dance-off alongside EastEnders actress Balvinder Sopal after both landed in the bottom two once the public votes and judges’ scores were combined.

Performing once again with his professional partner Jowita Przystał, Ross took to the floor to deliver his Paso Doble to the dramatic Thunderbirds Are Go theme tune. Despite giving it his all and earning cheers from the studio audience, it wasn’t quite enough to secure his place in next week’s show.

Balvinder and her partner Julian Caillon reprised their Foxtrot to The Way You Look Tonight from the classic film Swing Time, a routine that won over the judges for its elegance and timing.

After both pairs danced again, it was down to the judges to decide who should stay in the competition.

Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke all voted to save Balvinder and Julian, sealing Ross and Jowita’s fate. Head judge Shirley Ballas confirmed she would have agreed with the majority.

Speaking to host Tess Daly after his elimination, an emotional Ross reflected on his Strictly experience:

“I have loved every single minute of it. I would like to say thank you to everyone who has supported us, all the people who voted, they’ve been amazing. It’s been one of the best experiences of my life.”

His dance partner Jowita, who won the Glitterball Trophy in 2022 with Hamza Yassin, paid tribute to her celebrity partner, saying:

“Ross, you are the most wonderful person. You’ve made every rehearsal so full of laughter and positivity. I’m so proud of you.”

Fans and co-stars react

Viewers took to social media to express their disappointment at seeing Ross go so soon, with many praising his charm, humour, and enthusiasm throughout the competition.

One fan wrote on X:

“Ross King was such a joy to watch, pure entertainment and heart. Sad to see him go!”

Another added:

“Movie Week is always brutal. Ross and Jowita deserved to stay longer, they brought so much fun to Strictly!”

The elimination means Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon will now dance again next weekend, joining the remaining contestants as Strictly Come Dancing 2025 continues its glittering run.

Movie Week magic

Earlier in the weekend’s show, themed performances dazzled viewers with tributes to cinema classics. Standout routines included a high-energy Grease jive, a Frozen inspired Viennese Waltz, and a spectacular Barbie group dance that had fans talking online for hours.

Although Ross’s Thunderbirds Paso Doble didn’t score high enough to save him, it certainly won him affection from the audience. And as Strictly fans know, being eliminated doesn’t mean being forgotten.

Ross King waltzes out of the competition, but his time under the Strictly spotlight will be remembered for his warmth, humour, and unmistakable showbiz sparkle.
