Britpop icon Richard Ashcroft has announced details of a major headline show in Manchester later this year, much to the delight of fans.
The legendary singer-songwriter and former frontman of The Verve will take to the stage at Manchester’s brand-new Co-op Live arena on Saturday, November 8, in support of his forthcoming seventh solo album Lovin’ You, which is due for release on October 3.
Tickets for the highly anticipated concert will go on general sale at 9:30am BST this Friday, with demand expected to be huge.
A rare chance to see Ashcroft headline
While Ashcroft has been performing as the support act on the UK and Ireland legs of Oasis’ mammoth Live ’25 reunion tour, the Manchester date will mark one of just two scheduled headline shows of his own this year.
The other will take place on August 23 in Cornwall, where Ashcroft will headline the Live At Scorrier House summer concert series.
Fans are already buzzing at the opportunity to see the Wigan-born star take centre stage again on home turf. His Manchester date is set to showcase both beloved classics from his time with The Verve, including “Bittersweet Symphony” and “Lucky Man,” as well as brand-new tracks from Lovin’ You.
The new album
Ashcroft’s upcoming album Lovin’ You is his first since 2021’s Acoustic Hymns Vol. 1, which reimagined some of his most iconic songs in stripped-back arrangements.
While details about the new record remain under wraps, the title track, released earlier this year, was met with strong reviews, with critics praising its heartfelt lyrics and Ashcroft’s unmistakable voice.
Speaking about his return to the studio, Ashcroft said recently: “There’s still so much music in me, and I feel more inspired than ever to share it.”
Tickets on sale soon
With Manchester’s Co-op Live arena boasting a capacity of over 20,000, the November 8 show promises to be one of Ashcroft’s biggest solo gigs to date.
Tickets go on general sale at 9:30am BST this Friday, and fans are being advised to book early to avoid disappointment.
