Spice Girls fans, get ready to zig-a-zig-ah once again. Melanie C has confirmed that the iconic girl group are actively discussing a reunion for their 30th anniversary in 2026, offering the strongest indication yet that a comeback is truly on the horizon.
Appearing on Good Morning America to promote her upcoming ninth studio album Sweat, the singer was inevitably asked the question fans around the world have been hoping for: Will the Spice Girls reunite? With a smile and her fingers crossed, Mel C didn’t shy away from the possibility, in fact, she encouraged it.
“I remain optimistic,” she said enthusiastically. “It’s our thirtieth anniversary next year. We toured in 2019, we did a few stadium shows in the UK and it was incredible.”
That 2019 tour, which saw Sporty, Scary, Baby, and Ginger reunite for sold-out shows across the UK and Ireland, reignited global nostalgia for the world's most successful girl group. Though Victoria Beckham opted out, the run still sold hundreds of thousands of tickets and proved that the Spice Girls’ appeal spans generations.
Mel C explained that the band remains immensely proud of their legacy, which has only grown in recent years as new fans discover their music. “‘We’re just so proud of the legacy that we have,” she said. “We have fans now from new generations who are just loving the Spice Girls, so I would like to get back on stage with the girls.”
According to Melanie, conversations are actively happening behind the scenes. “We’re talking and we’re seeing what opportunities are out there,” she revealed, hinting that the group is weighing several possibilities, from new music and special appearances to a full world tour. “The thing that stops us is we feel so precious about it. We want to make sure it’s the right thing and agree on the right thing.”
