Fans of the iconic British comedy The Inbetweeners have reason to celebrate, as reports suggest that the much-loved series is poised for a major comeback. The original cast members, Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley, and Blake Harrison, are reportedly keen to reunite, sparking excitement for a potential return to screens.
First airing on E4 in 2008, The Inbetweeners quickly became a cult classic, chronicling the awkward teenage antics of Will, Simon, Jay, and Neil at Rudge Park Comprehensive. The series was followed by two successful feature films, The Inbetweeners Movie (2011) and The Inbetweeners 2 (2014), which cemented its place in British comedy history and earned a devoted international fanbase.
According to insiders, a new deal has been finalised with production powerhouse Banijay UK, paving the way for a fresh chapter in the lives of the four friends. The show’s creators, Iain Morris and Damon Beesley, confirmed that work is underway to bring back the characters that audiences fell in love with over a decade ago.
“It’s incredibly exciting to be plotting more adventures for our four favourite friends (ooh friends),” the duo said in a statement.
While specific details remain under wraps, it is thought that the revival could take several forms, ranging from a new television run to a feature film, or even a stage adaptation. Talks are reportedly ongoing to determine the best way to reboot the cult favourite while staying true to its original humour and charm.

Banijay UK’s chief executive, Patrick Holland, shared his enthusiasm about the project, telling The Sun:
“We’re delighted to pick up the conversation about the future of The Inbetweeners with them. It’s an incredibly popular series and we’re thrilled to be involved in bringing the characters back to life for fans old and new.”
