After a glittering career in Olympic diving, Tom Daley is diving into a brand-new arena, this time, the cozy, crafty world of knitting. The 2024 summer edition marked his retirement from professional diving, but the British champion is far from retiring from the spotlight.
Tom is set to host a major new TV series titled The Game of Wool, a fresh take on competitive craft shows aimed at rivalling the popularity of The Great British Bake Off. The show is set against the beautiful backdrop of rural Scotland and will feature ten creative contestants battling it out to be crowned the UK’s first TV knitting champion.
A fresh challenge for contestants and viewers alike
The format is split into two main challenges each episode. First, the Big Knit, where contestants collaborate as a team on complex projects that test their creativity and teamwork. Next, the Wee Knit, a solo challenge that assesses individual skill and technical ability.
Participants will craft a range of impressive wool creations, from clothing and furniture to jewellery and home accessories, all designed to showcase their diverse talents with yarn and needles.

“I am very excited, and slightly nervous, to be taking on my first ever hosting role on a project that encompasses everything I’m passionate about. I adore all things knitting and encourage everyone to pick up some knitting needles and give it a go.”
