The Guardia Civil is investigating a serious traffic accident that occurred last Thursday on the TF-5 motorway in Tenerife, involving a reckless BMW driver who collided with two vehicles.
The incident took place around 7:00p.m. near exit 19, within the municipality of Tacoronte, according to information confirmed by the Guardia Civil
The emergency coordination centre (CECOES) received multiple calls from witnesses reporting the crash, prompting a swift deployment of the response teams. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they worked to free three people trapped inside one of the vehicles, managing to free them all safely.
In total, six people were injured in the accident. The Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) provided on-site medical assistance, treating five of the victims for minor injuries. However, one person suffered a serious injury and was stabilised at the scene before being taken to the HUC Hospital for further treatment.
Authorities have yet to release further details about the reckless driver or the circumstances leading up to the crash, but the investigation remains ongoing. The incident has raised concerns over driving behaviour on one of the island's busiest motorways.
