After a 25-year hiatus, the legendary Walking with Dinosaurs is returning to TV screens with a brand-new series, and a fresh voice to narrate its journey back into the prehistoric world.
The BBC has officially confirmed the return of the groundbreaking documentary series, with a high-profile reboot airing soon on BBC One and iPlayer. The new six-part series is narrated by award-winning actor Bertie Carvel, best known for his work in Doctor Foster, and promises to deliver cutting-edge visual effects, epic storytelling, and astonishing dinosaur encounters.
The first trailer has already dropped, offering fans a breathtaking glimpse at the cinematic scope of the revival. Sweeping shots of ancient landscapes, from the mountainous forests of Alberta to the red rock canyons of Utah, set the stage for jaw-dropping scenes with creatures such as the Spinosaurus, the largest carnivorous dinosaur ever known, patrolling the riverbanks of ancient Morocco.
Viewers will also witness a tense showdown between a young Triceratops and a hungry Tyrannosaurus rex in what is now North America, as well as a touching storyline featuring a giant Lusotitan risking everything for love in prehistoric Portugal.
Originally airing in 1999 and narrated by Sir Kenneth Branagh, Walking with Dinosaurs revolutionised the nature documentary genre with its groundbreaking CGI and storytelling approach. The reboot aims to capture that same magic for a new generation, using state-of-the-art technology to bring these extinct giants to life like never before.
The BBC has yet to confirm the exact release date, but the return of Walking with Dinosaurs is already shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated factual series of the year.
