Robert Smith has officially lifted the curtain on the full line-up for his highly anticipated curated run of Teenage Cancer Trust concerts for 2026, and it’s nothing short of monumental. The Cure frontman, who stepped into the role following the long-running stewardship of The Who’s Roger Daltrey, has assembled one of the most ambitious and diverse programmes the charity has seen in years.
The Teenage Cancer Trust’s annual concert series at London’s Royal Albert Hall has become a cornerstone of the UK’s live music calendar, pairing the country’s most iconic venue with world-class artists all in support of young people battling cancer. Smith’s history with the charity stretches back to The Cure’s legendary fundraising performances in 2006 and 2014, making him a fitting and beloved choice to take the helm for 2026.
Now, fans finally have the full picture of what promises to be one of the standout weeks in next year’s live music landscape.
The run kicks off with Elbow, who will make their debut at the Royal Albert Hall. The Manchester indie heroes will be joined by rising duo MRCY, launching the week with a night bound to be rich in emotion and soaring musicianship.
The second night brings the tradition of Comedy Night to life with ‘Robert Smith’s Comedy Favourites’, a curated collection of some of the UK's sharpest comedic talents. The bill includes household names and respected stand-ups such as Maisie Adam, Bridget Christie, Jack Dee, Andy Hamilton, Dom Joly, Miles Jupp, Athena Kugblenu, Stewart Lee and Dara Ó Briain, all lending their wit to support the cause.
Music returns to centre stage the following evening, as post-rock titans Mogwai headline with support from Craven Faults and Annika Kilkenny. Known for their cinematic intensity and immersive live performances, Mogwai’s presence marks one of the most eagerly awaited shows of the week.
Then, the spotlight shifts to the Manic Street Preachers, long admired by Smith and returning after performing at his 2018 Meltdown Festival. They’ll take the stage with the electrifying Welsh outfit The Joy Formidable, promising a night full of anthems and alternative edge.
One of the most talked-about shows of the week is set to be an evening headlined by none other than My Bloody Valentine, who will bring their seismic sound back to a venue built for acoustics. Supporting them with a stripped-back set will be Scottish synth-pop stars Chvrches, offering a rare intimate performance that longtime fans will not want to miss.
The final weekend of the week-long event raises the bar even further. Garbage, led by the incomparable Shirley Manson, will take the stage for a night of alt-rock icons. They will be joined by Placebo, who are marking their 30th anniversary in 2026 and will deliver a rare, stripped-back set specially designed for the occasion.
Capping off the entire run is Wolf Alice, one of Britain’s most celebrated modern rock bands. Performing an intimate show as part of their The Clearing tour, they will be supported by acclaimed indie singer-songwriter Nilüfer Yanya, an artist whose rise has been propelled by critical acclaim and growing fan devotion.
With a line-up that bridges generations, genres and artistic styles, Robert Smith’s 2026 curation reinforces the deep cultural importance of the Teenage Cancer Trust concerts. What began as a charitable initiative has evolved into a cornerstone of UK music heritage, and next year’s run looks set to elevate that legacy even further.
For fans of rock, indie, alternative and everything in between, the 2026 TCT concerts are shaping up to be unmissable. With Smith’s influence threading through each night, the series promises a blend of nostalgia, innovation and unforgettable performances, all in support of an essential cause.
